Broadcom (BRCM) announced before the bell that it is making an offer to acquire Emulex (ELX) at $9.25/share for its common stock. This is a 40% increase over Monday's closing price.
Emulex is a fibre channel storage company located in Costa Mesa, California. They provide a networking framework for data centers including storage switches, I/O controllers and SAN storage switch devices.
