Google Chrome Ups Ante

Some exciting news for Google Chrome users. Google just released a new version which now includes three new features to speed up your Internet surfing experience.
Although the Internet browser is still in beta, there is some really cool stuff going on here in Chrome Beta 9.0.597.84:
- Chrome WebGL support
- Chrome Instant
- Chrome Web Store
Chrome WebGL
WebGL is a 3d graphics programming interface based on the OpenGL ES 2.0 framework. What this means to you, the Chrome user, is that you will be able to experience a rich 3D graphic experience all from within your browser. Web developers will be able to create programs to generate 3D drawings and draw them within a virtual canvas. You can checkout these examples that use WebGL.

Chrome Instant
This is a very cool feature. As you start typing in the address bar, Chrome Instant will start to load pages you visit while you type. Sites that you visit frequently will be stores in the Chrome Omnibus, a special tab page that holds the eight icons to quickly go to a website.

Another cool thing to note is that if you type in your search within the address bar and have Google search engine enabled, Chrome will show search results as you type.

To use Chrome Instant, you need to enable it by going to the Options | Basic tab and click on the "Enable Instant for faster searching and browsing" checkbox.

Chrome Web Store
The cool thing about Chrome is that it has lots of neat little apps you can use. Categories include:
- Education
- Entertainment
- Family
- Games
- Lifestyle
- News and Weather
- Productivity
- Shopping
- Social and Communications
- Utilities
Some Chrome applications are free and others you have to purchase.
