Twitter has a search feature
On your Twitter profile, you can only search for people. There is a seperate website available to do Twitter search
I dont think they want you to know that you are being "logged". Its uncomfortable to know that everything you type in is being stored and is searchable. If people knew about that, they probably would use Twitter less.
