The 'Ole 90% Tax

Sorry, I just have to laugh. When word came out today that the House of Representatives passed a bill that would tax AIG employees I applauded. It wasn't that the government stepped in to put things straight, nor was it the 90% tax levied on AIG employees.

It was how fast politicians move when public sentiment gets rowdy and ready to break down the walls. Thats what was so laughable. Ok, yeah I admit it was the 90% tax hit too that had me chuckle. After I was steamed of the bonuses and how money flowed from AIG to the other major financial institutions, I can go to sleep tonight knowing we are finally doing things right in this country for a change.

Where have you ever seen politicians move so fast, within days, to side vigorously with public sentiment? Does it always have to take an acto of war or catastrophic event to get this country back together again? It shouldn't and maybe thats the problem.

The beauty of the communication medium is that it travels quickly today reaching millions in the speed of light. Bloggers, news media, television stations have all learned to accept the Internet as a place to gather, to understand, and to be heard.
