I've always been a visual person. I guess it started back in 6th grade when I spent my time pouring over charts and analyzing them. It didn't also hurt to have a father that was an architect. That's why I love photography, it appeals to my senses.
Seeing things visually was enforced as I took architecture, drafting, and art classes in college. Then in the latter 1990's and here today I spend quite a bit of my day staring at price movements in stock charts.
I enjoy seeing what others see through the camera and how they capture light hitting upon a subject. I've seen quite a few online photo galleries over the years and noted those that were interesting enough to follow that I want to share so that you could appreciate the true talents of these digital photographers.
Here's an ongoing list of the best photography galleries in no particular order.
- Mike Steward
Mike has an uncanny ability of taking shots of form, function and color. He can take an ordinary object that is something that you and I would just walk by, and highlight it in all its glory. He has some of the most amazing pictures I have ever seen taking from a non-DSL camera via a Panasonic Lumix LX2 and LX3s. They are so good that I'm considering buying one of those cameras to start my own photo gallery. - Chema Madox is clever. No, make that very clever. I can't explain the photographic artwork but take a look and you'll see what I mean.
- Kevin McNeal has an eye for color and mountain side scenery. He captures fall colors wonderfully.
- National Geography always has remarkable photos. The collection of "Life In Color" is unique. My favorite is the polar bear leaping off the ice cap.
- Amazing Planet is the website of photographer Filip Kulisev who takes fantastic landscape photography around the world.
- Kerry's blog
