If you are new to marketing books, you are going to love Purple Cow by Seth Godin. I suppose those who are already marketing pros already understand the concept which is pretty much common sense. But to me, this was a fresh insight and good read to base my projects on.

Seth Godin is great at getting to the very essence of it all when it comes to marketing. Having read Godin's blog over the years you will know he writes with passion, experience, and insight in a very entertaining and concise manner.

Purple Cow is a call to action. It tickles your marketing senses to be creative and find ways to turn your business into something truly remarkable.

Godin wants you to realize that the days of companies buying their way into the public eye (i.e. television) is over. Companies have to deliver products and services that are truly remarkable. They can no longer be conservative. The days of being safe is actually risky.

Don't look for Purple Cow to have all the right answers, let alone steps to take to get you going - that is really left up to you. This is a thinking book for you to ponder and come up with strategies to propel your business into being great. It challenges you to offer much more than what you think you can give to your customers.

Get it, read it, and let it inspire you.
