The grass roots campaign to make bring notice to the earth's climate change is being observed today around the world. The event plans to educate people to cut their use of energy and greenhouse emissions which scientists say are causing disease, draught, and flooding.
From 8:30pm until 9:30pm in your time zone, you are being asked to turn off your lights to do your part in the event. This is the third year the worldwide event is being celebrated.
Major landmarks across the United States are due to be turned off including Empire State Building, the Great Pyramids and Sphynx, the Eiffel Tower, China's Olympic Stadium, the Las Vegas Strip, and Sydney Harbor.
