A List of Alternative Search Engines

January 6 2012 by Kerry Kobashi

Search engines
While Google, Yahoo!, and Bing serve as the most used search engines in the world, there are many others search engine alternatives that you probably never even heard of.

For many, including myself, using Google has become a habit. Whenever I have a question or want to look up something, I just head on over there and key in my phrase. But sometimes, its good to look elsewhere for your search results you know?

Today I spent a good portion of my day scouring the Internet looking for general purpose search engines and am making the list available to you. They are sorted in descending order according to Alexa worldwide ranking as of the date of this article.

It should be noted that Google and Bing are the only two major search engines left in existence. Yahoo! now uses Microsoft Bing for search results.
