People With Blue Eyes Come From One Ancestor

Researchers from the University of Copenhagen found that people with blue eyes all come from a single individual some six to ten thousand years ago.

Originally humans all had brown eyes and variations of this manifested itself from brown to green. Blue eyes are a mutation that created itself around the Black Sea region.

This is the reason why so many Europeans living around Northern and Central Europe have blue eyes.

Eye color is a part of human genetics determined by chromosomes and consists of different amounts of melanin in the iris. People with blue eyes have a special gene that reduces the amount of melanin created.
