Tablet PCs: The Ultimate Mobile Machine

August 21 2010 by TamRiley

If you are someone that works out in the field or needs to have a computer by your side throughout your workday, tablet pc's offer a better experience than traditional laptops.

Tablet PCs are designed with portability in mind. If you do a lot of walking and have to hold the unit while working, table pc's are ideal form of computing. Unlike laptops, they don't have a keyboard or mouse. Instead, they use a stylus or digitizer for input entry making these units a very lightweight and mobile solution.

Apple leads the charge with the newly released Apple iPad. Dell, Acer, Hewlett Packard and Google also have tablet pc's in the market.

Consumer interest in these devices are starting to pickup. Apple has already sold over 3 million units in a short 3 months and the much anticipated HP Slate is due later this fall. The HP Slate is rumored to be powered by a 1.Ghz Intel Atom processor, a 9" LCD screen, WiFi connectivity and running Windows 7.
