Former Myspace CEO Owen Van Natta Joins Online Gaming Publisher Zynga

August 14 2010 by GordonM

Former Myspace CEO Owen Van Natta has been hired by popular online gaming company Zynga as Executive Vice President.

Van Notta joined Myspace in April 2009 after Myspace founders Chris DeWolfe and Tom Anderson left. His job was to turn around the struggling social network after it had started to lose dominance as the top social network to Facebook. The Los Angeles Times reported that Van Notta and Chief Digital Officer Jon Miller were clashing with one another and thus was the reason for the termination. Miller was the former CEO of America Online.

Mr. Van Notta has been a former chief operating officer at Facebook and Vice President of Worldwide Business at Amazon.com.
