AT&T Rated Worst Wireless Carrier By Consumer Reports

iPhone users must not be very happy. Consumer Reports took a survey among its readers and found that AT&T had the worst customer satisfaction rating of all wireless carriers.
The survey, consisting of 58,000 readers, revealed that over 50% of the people were iPhone users.
The poor rating for AT&T's iPhone service comes as no surprise. This was one of the major reasons why I haven't purchased an iPhone. Family and friends in the San Francisco Bay Area are always complaining about dropped calls and poor coverage. A few times while in conversation with them, we disconnect and it isn't until later when they move to another location that we can continue our conversation.
Now I am a AT&T wireless customer using a Motorola cell phone and have been for nearly a decade. A few years ago, I tried other carriers and strangely, each one of them could not give me coverage at my home so I never bothered to switch. And yes, I did look at the coverage map all the way down to the neighborhood block. Although these other wireless carriers said they had me covered, my real usage demonstrated they were spotty at best. AT&T was the only one that works and I live in a very dense area of Silicon Valley. So no complaints here from me on AT&T but again, I'm not surprised with iPhone users dissatisfaction.
Consumer Reports also mentioned that U.S. Cellular was the number one rated contract wireless provider beating Verizon Wireless who had been the number one provider for years. Sprint was the surprise carrier who tied with Verizon Wireless in overall satisfaction which is a bit of a shocker.
