Meet The AirPod: A Car That Runs On Air

Now this is something that is totally cool and innovative that could change the way we drive. Introducing the AIRPOD, a three wheeled vehicle that runs on air.
The concept car was created in response to the City of Paris wanting to reduce air pollution, traffic jams, and a growing problem of limited parking space. It is being used in France as passenger shuttles and cargo transporters at airports. No word on if it will be available in the United States.
The developer, MDI of France, says the AIRPOD is capable of traveling up to 120 miles at a top speed of 50 miles per hour. Super for limited range trips to the bank or grocery store. The inventor, Guy Negre says that the car can be fitted with a battery that can take the car on trips up to 900 miles on a single gallon of gas.
The AIRPOD uses a 175 liter air tank that can be recharged in just 90 seconds with a specialized compressed air station. MDI says that it should cost only $1.30 for every 120 miles. That's extremely cheap considering the high cost of gasoline today.
Although the car may appear to be small, it actually can seat up to 4 individuals. The driver sits facing the lift up windshield hatch while up to two more adults and a baby can comfortably sit facing the rear window. Worried about carrying home groceries or luggage on a trip? There's enough room for that too.
The price? $8000. How's that for being easy on the environment and the pocketbook?
